Auto Racing
Whether it is Indy Car, Grand Am or ALMS, I can't think of anything I have enjoyed shooting as much as world class auto racing. From the first time I did it to the last time, the roar of engines and the thrill of speed has captivated me.
I've done several assignments for LAT Photographic,
shooting primarily the Champ Car World Series before it merged with
Indy Car. I've shot at Long Beach Grand Prix, Portland Grand Prix,
the Toyota 500 at Fontana, Las Vegas Speedway and the Mid-Ohio Grand
Prix. I've shot Champ Cars, Toyota Atlantics, GT, Daytona Prototypes and even Drifting. I love being in the action, whether in pit-lane or turn one, it
is all thrilling.

ATV Racing
I can still remember the name
of the first guy who ever won a national title on a quad. Rodney
Gentry, 1986, on Honda's now legendary Fourtrax 250R. I was 12 and
wrote to him once, and I can still tell you the thrill of receiving a
letter back from him in the mail, complete with a packet of factory
Honda stickers that I could attach to my measly little 125. (For
anyone viewing from Honda, I still to this day prefer Honda's for every
thing from my cars to my last 2 racing quads)
Some photos in Dirt Wheels magazine in those years
prompted me to take an interest in photographing the sport. Of course,
living in Idaho, not many of the top series come this way. Flash
foward many years, and my chance came when a national series came to
Boise and one of my shots ended up on the cover of ATV Sport magazine
a short time later. Talk about completing the circle. The best part
of it was, the shot was of a Number 1 rider, just like my childhood
hero. I still like to shoot offroad racing when I can.
